Top Amazon Essentials You Won’t Be Able to Live Without This Summer

June 4, 2019

Amazon Fashion is taking over my closet, and I’m not mad about it one bit!

I recently started a new job a few months ago, which is an amazing opportunity, but that meant leaving my bartending job that paid really well & taking a bit of a pay cut. I’ve had to make major cutbacks and cutting back on my fashion spending has been a HUGE adjustment for me – Something I’m still struggling with and will probably always be…

It can be a bit frustrating at times as someone who enjoys hunting for fashion on social media and seeing amazing pieces that break the heck out of my bank account.

Nonetheless, Amazon is here to my rescue. Y’all, I have needed new shoes for soooo long, and I finally decided to buy some the other day and found really cute ones on Amazon for around $20! That’s just the start of it – I’ve found so many great fashion finds lately, and it felt too good not to share.

So here are a few of my favorite Amazon finds – I hope you love them just as much as I do <3

Happy shopping ladies!

Swimwear

I was extremely hesitant to buy a bathing suit on Amazon. My curves tend to make finding swimwear that is flattering but affordable & cute close to impossible.

After hearing so many people rave about Amazon bathing suits, I decided to give them a shot. I have to say, I’m incredibly impressed by the quality of their suits. Anytime I spend under $30 (!!!!) really on anything, I’m skeptical on how it might turn out.

I found a few really cute ones that are all under $40 and I linked them below if you want to check them out 🙂

Summer Sandals

Like I said before, I really needed new shoes, and I struggled to find summer sandals that are cute and affordable while maintaining good quality.

Of course, Tory Burch and Sam Edelman called my name but those aren’t quite in the budget at the moment (a girl can dream though!).

Once again, Amazon Fashion has exceeded my expectations, and here are a few good finds for cute & trendy summer sandals:

Women’s Bow Studded Flip Flops Jelly Sandal Summer Beach Bath Thong Slippers // FITORY Womens Flat Sandals Slides Open Toe Slip On Shoes for Summer Size 6-11 // Ollio Women’s Shoe Two Strap Sling Back Flat Sandals // Rohb by Joyce Azria Maison Almond Toe Mule // SANDALUP Women’s Soft Faux Leather Open Toe and Ankle Strap Buckle Flat Sandals

A Good Book to Read

There’s nothing better than laying by the pool with a good book to read. I’ve listed below some great ones for when you want to relax by the pool, by the beach, or have a glass of wine and a good book in bed.

I listed below a few that I’ve read and couldn’t put down. The Millionaire’s Wife & Behind Closed Doors are both really great thrillers – if you’re interested in “Gone Girl” or “Girl By The Train” kind of reads you’ll love them (these are my favorite kinds of books, so if you need more suggestions, I have plenty hehe).

Girl, Wash Your Face is my next read, and I‘ve heard amazing things from everyone who has read this book. Next to thrillers, self-help and empowering books are some of my favorite reads at the moment.

Fun fact about Girl, Wash Your Face: The author, Rachel Hollis, is a motivational speaker, New York Times bestseller, podcast host and you name it.

What I love about Rachel’s content is how genuine and down-to-earth she is. She recognizes that there is more behind every perfect picture or post & what you see is not always what the reality is. Rachel is inspiring women to embrace & love who you are and I couldn’t respect that more!

Oversized Sunglasses

It hurts a little to admit this, but I’ve owned more than three pairs of Ray-Ban Sunglasses in the past few years and I’ve either lost or broken every single pair. Don’t get me wrong – I love a good pair of Ray-Bans, but the reality is I am clearly way too irresponsible to pay more than $100 on a pair of sunglasses.

I’m definitely that type of person who can never have too many pairs of sunglasses – it’s a problem, but luckily for me, I found some cute pairs that are also affordable.

There’s something about summer and oversized sunglasses that go together, and I wanted to share some of my favorite affordable & stylish sunglasses:

Skincare

Skin care is SO importantespecially in the summertime!

As someone who has extremely fair skin and can manage to get a sunburn while driving on the way home from work everyday, I can tell you that these products are a must!

Sun Bum Sun Care

Fun fact: Inevitably, Kevin and I went to the pool for the first time a few weeks ago, and like every year decided we were invincible to the sun. Boy were we wrong! Kevin immediately went to the store and came back with three different versions of aloe, an 80 proof sunscreen, 100 proof sunscreen, and more… Don’t do it kids!

The Sun Bum Cool Down Spray is great for a bad sunburn. It was the only thing we used that didn’t burn our skin. It also helped keep the burn from drying out our skin and peeling.

TULA Skin Care

TULA products are by far my FAVORITE skincare products ever!!! I repeat, TULA is amazing!

Everything I have tried is incredible. The moisturizers really hydrate your skin without feeling oily and the face wash is a great cleanser while also managing to remove your makeup at the same time.

My favorite product at the moment is the TULA Probiotic Skin Care Acne Clearing & Tone Correcting Gel. All of sudden, I’ve started having bad breakouts on my chin just a few months ago. I did some research on the cause and your chin is supposedly a hotspot for hormone breakouts. Everything I tried didn’t seem to do the job like this does.

ThisWorks Skin Care

I know it’s highly recommended to wear sunscreen everyday even if you aren’t planning on a pool day, but one thing I can’t stand is the thick and oily feel that sunscreen has in addition to my makeup.

A few months ago, I was kindly gifted a beauty box by Kait Miller (Kait is amazing! Her posts are so inspirational and she writes a lot about self care and mental health!).

She introduced me to ThisWorks & their moisturizer with SPF. I love this stuff! It doesn’t feel thick or oily and it gives your skin that “glowy” finish without looking greasy.

Kimonos & Cover-ups

Hands down my favorite thing about a kimono: they are so VERSATILE. You can wear them to the pool over your kini, when you go out with the girls, date night, or even to work.

Kimonos & cover-ups are my favorite clothing items in the summertime, they are so easy!

There really is nothing better than throwing on a cute and trendy kimono with your favorite pair of summer sandals.

Have I mentioned how much I love summer….?

Hair Products & Accessories

Like my skin, my hair suffers from the sun too. Between the sun, chlorine, & my hair dryer, my hair doesn’t stand a chance.

I’ve been using Not Your Mother’s Sea Salt Spray for a few years now and I love how it gives you those natural beach waves. It’s great for when you get out of the pool or when you’re at the beach, but I’ve also used it on casual days where I’m running around doing errands and I don’t feel like doing much to my hair.

I don’t what it is about a floppy hat in the summertime, but they just make things more fun if you ask me. I love this one so much! There are a bunch of different options of what you want your hat to say.

Calling all brides! They have an option where you can order a bundle for your bridal party including one for yourself that says “bride” on it 🙂

Maybe scrunchies are back; maybe they aren’t. But I’m going to go ahead and say that they are. I love using scrunchies to throw my hair up. I started doing this because regular hair ties give me a headache, but I love the color options Amazon has. I think they’re definitely a must-have for the summer 🙂
